Commissioning a Portrait Painting
A beautiful portrait painting can capture the true essence of a loved one - their spark of life, far better than a photograph. Such a painting becomes a family treasure to last a lifetime and down future generations.
Two talented artists offer their services as portrait painters. Both have high skill levels and years of experience. Their styles are different so you can choose the artist who best suits your personal tastes. The paintings are done from photographs. Details of what photos of a subject required will be provided. However if at least one live sitting can be arranged, that would be a preference of the artists.
Zad Jabbour is a highly experienced and skilled artist from Lebanon, who is now resident in Auckland. One of his specialities is portraiture and he creates portrait busts (see sculpture page) and portraits in oils.
You can commission Zad to paint a portrait which he will create using photographs.
Zad's prices are:
Size: 320mm x 420mm $1450.00.
Size: 450mm x 600mm $1475.00.
Size: 550mm x 700mm $1950.00
Zad can also do family group portraits from photos and paintings of pets.
Janet Marshall has many years' experience as a painter and is famous for her New Zealand native bird paintings, also available through this site. She is also a talented portrait painter who has received commendations and made finals in award competitions.
Her prices for unframed acrylic on canvas are:
Size: 280mm x 360mm $2000.00
Size: 500mm x 6600mm $2500.00
Size: 560mm x 720mm $3000.00
Commissioning a Portrait
For both artists there is $150.00 deposit to be paid upon a portrait being commissioned. 50% of the remainder is due upon approval of the sketch and 50% on completion of the work.
