Now And Then - Paul Vincent
11 March - 5 April
Paul Vincent is a Wellington based artist who has been referred to as The King of Quirk. He is famous for his 'Blah Blah Blah' series and his work has been sold all over the world. His buyers are many; Andy Serkis (Golem), Murray Ball etc. Paul likes to paint the spontaneity and randomness of everyday life. 'Painting for me is the cat's tail flicking around the corner' Paul studied film production at the Wellington Arts Centre in 1988. Since then he has been successfully exhibiting his paintings with numerous group and solo shows, predominantly in Wellington and Auckland and also in South Africa.
In Now and Then includes a series influenced by the cut out last works of Matisse, but in Paul's own distinctive style. The show explores another new avenue, contemplation on the beginning of the universe and also revisits past musings, particularly storytelling of life's trials by his beloved 'monsters'
