From the 2025 series - Lempicka - Queen of Art Deco

"Tamara de Lempicka was a Polish artist who gained fame in Europe between the first and second world wars with art deco style portraits of aristocrats and the wealthy and stylised paintings of nudes. In her early years, she lived in and traveled through different European countries before moving to the US in 1939 where she  painted celebrity portraits. She later moved to Mexico, dying there in 1980.  While Lempicka's art has been both in and out of fashion since the 1960s she has remained an important figure in the art world.  Her artistic style, and indeed her career, developed throughout her journey. In consideration of our own artistic endeavours, we note that this is a common point. Fascinated by her life story and her individual Art Deco style, we are inspired by her work. We have therefore dedicated our series entitled 'Tribute to Lempicka - Queen of Art Deco' to her". - Gabriel Heimler, Anna Proc
