'Welcome to Mars' features a Magnolia tree, out of place in the desolate plateau of Tongariro National Park. This painting is inspired by the Chateau Tongariro, a 19th century European style building, also out of place in it's surroundings.
The title is a reference to there being no people yet on Mars, and this is the first Heimler and Proc painting that does not include people.
